WOW What a Cool set! But you knew that. This is the OPERATION MOON BASE BY Marx Play set # 4654. I set it all up and took plenty of photos. Over 75 pieces assembled.. so over 100 when you take items apart. 2 Large pages of Instructions.. The box is large - Measures 31" x 23" x 7". The graphics on box are great. NO fading. Some age and wear .. mostly to the sides. There are flap tears..which can be repaired by new owner to make it alot nicer. See photos

Looks like most of the parts are here.. Some small pieces broken.. but will include them. There are some springs missing for the rockets and such. The molded Plastic Moon Base is really neat. Measures 29" x 21" x 6". There are the 3 tears on top (which happens to these due to the weight of the space station tower).. can be repaired.. If it were mine .. I would epoxy plastic on the bottom and it would look great and be sturdy. The rest of the moon base looks fine.

This set comes with some really neat gadgets! Like the Exploding Mountain - which is complete - Mint and works great! The Space Station Tower.. which is also complete and no breaks.. but needs a new spring inside.. it kinda unwound).. The Gantry and Launching Pad looks excellent and complete .. but again, needs a spring. There is the blue Moon Ship.. which is a sighting device you look through and shoot rockets.. bunch of those rockets there. But you need two of those ball point pen springs for it. The Space Capsule is all complete and excellent with the astronaut inside! There are vehicles and space men..and all those little parts in great condition.. OH.. and the tin litho launching station is just about mint too.. that goes inside your "moon mountain" and you shoot rockets out of it. There is minimal damage to this set.. maybe a fin missing on a rocket.. the one leg for the school room blackboard.. And the flying saucer thingey is broken up.. I took a close up photo.. other than that.. VERY Well taken care of. There are a bunch of rockets, vehicles, space men.. and two aliens. JUST A REALLY NICE RARE SET..
