We had a great year in our little Toy World as well as our personal - family life! We are looking forward to more great trips next year to buy toys as well. We really love the Hunt for the toys! We are going to an estate auction this coming weekend - with many cool 1960s toys..so that is exciting!

We are back in the Catskills NY after spending a quick weekend in Maine with our daughter, son in law - Grandson and the in-laws. Celebrated our littlest grandsons first birthday! We had a great time & were sorry to leave. But - tonight is Christmas Eve & we will spend tonight & tomorrow next door with our Son, his wife & 3 other grandkids, and our other in laws. So no traveling needed! We are expecting a few inches of snow tonight too!

While celebrating this weekend..we still shopped for the site. On the way home, we made some stops and picked up some cool items-here are some of them:

This JUST IN! >> 1964 Magnetic Doll House by Child Guidance. This is really the nicest one I have had! Looks hardly played with. Paper Litho on the Large 26" x 20" masonite floor is bright - clean and all intact. Plastic roof is like new. All the accessories, furniture is here. Paper on plastic walls - all intact. All Complete! Just a NICE - Bright - Clean & dare I say, CRISP set! Wow. Box looks pretty sharp too. I just listed it on the Toys1 pg as well as the Toys2.

1955 Davy Crockett - Walt Disney's Official Western Prairie Wagon. WOW. What an amazing find. Superb Condition! This is as Mint as you will find. A few little edge scratches..but that is it! RARE to find especially in this condition. This is a Tin Lithographed Metal Wagon - Manufactured, under license agreement with Disney, by Liberty Manufacturers. It measures 15" long (not counting the 15" handle), 13" tall & 8" wide. Colors are Bright & Clean! No fading or problems! It has the hard to find canopy on top with is high quality vinyl. Went to an auction today for one item and got it.. Actually a Collection. Original 1950s Wheaties Mini License Plate Collection - from same estate! I have listed individual lots as well as The COMPLETE SET of 80 license plates. These are beautiful condition.. never used, never displayed just awesome! I have them listed on the Miscellaneous page! There are many more shown there!

Crazy week here in the Catskills, NY. The streams were fine this time around.. Just major Power Outages due to high winds and Many, many trees down on wires. NYSEG got our area up on Wednesday.. the rest of Town should be up this weekend. Not so lucky our Southern NY & Coastal NJ neighbors. The town is taking donations of food, water, etc. to send down there. What a mess!

Sandy should be hitting NY State today/tomorrow. After Irene last yr. our town was hit really hard..being in the Catskill Mts.- stream overflowing caused many power outages and road destruction. We have had warning this time and our town (as well as surrounding areas) is on high alert. Schools are closed today, etc. We expect power outages and will not to be able to go online from home, also we have no cell service where we live.. but expect to be able to get online from nearby Woodstock,NY..if we can get there. I am shipping all orders rec'd over the weekend this morning.. so fear not.. we will catch up once it settles down after the storm.

Yea! The Monkey Collection is in. 1950s 1960s Stuffed Plush Monkey Collection! They look GREAT! I will be listing them tonight on the Toys1 pg. 1950s section. They are all in Excellent condition. 1950s-1960s. Measuring from 12" - 24". Plush with Rubber Face, some with bananas, leashes, collars.. and some unique ones too! Mr. Bims, Zippy look a likes, Columbia Toy Co, Blue Ribbon, etc. Just awesome! One cool item below. Have sold only a few over the yrs. One of my favorites types of toys..early 70s Battery Operated race sets, self contained.. made in Japan by Tomy, sold in Woolworth's stores back then. This one is the Speedway 4 Lane Race Set. Picked up a few things last night a Fix-It Stage Coach by Ideal & a 1960s Disk-Go-Case to hold 45 r.p.m. records (listed on Misc. pg.). ALSO, this hard-to-find Marx Playset from 1950s, MARX SUPER CIRCUS. Tin litho shows some age..but it's the figures that make the set so special. here are some photos, Note the father pulling son, Mother pulling daughter, Policeman catching boy trying to sneak under the tent, Tall Man, Midget, Fat Lady, Snake Charmer, Siamese Twins, Popcorn Seller & wagon..monkeys on ladders.. etc. just very cool! My Unga Bunga arrived safely today and when I opened it I was immediately taken back to my 8th birthday. I was very proud of how I made him up from the kit and have always regretted allowing my mother to give him away during those teenage years when toys don't seem so important any more. Occasionally, I have 'Googled' him in the hope of getting a picture, but not for over a year now, so I could not believe it when a chance 'Google' brought up your website and there he was, complete and ready to be brought to life again. I just could not believe my luck and have been like a kid again waiting for the parcel to arrive. This time he'll be staying.

Many thanks for the quick postage and safe packaging. Many, many thanks for having such a great website and bringing out the child that's always in us, no matter what age we are on the outside.

Just got back from our "Grand Daughter Weekend".. This year we took our oldest grandson to Gettysburg, and we took our oldest 10 yr. old Grand daughter Faith to Lexington/Concord area in Massachusetts. Learned some neat stuff on the revolution & had fun too! (She said she wanted to see "something to do with the Revolution"). Faith also loves flea markets and antique shops...so we were able to go to a flea market and pick up some items for the site! here are some shots of our trip and some items I picked up. Will list on site tomorrow!

We went to see the Old North Bridge, Birthplace & Museum of Clara Barton & Home of Louise May Alcott, where she wrote Little Women. We also learned about Henry David Thoreau & saw Walden Pond! And found a huge flea market! Our son goes with us too! Mom stays home with the little one!

We are away on a "Grandson's Weekend" down in Gettysburg PA. With our 12 yr. old Grandson. Spent the day exploring the Battlefield & Museums.. took a ride down to Antietam. Tonight - Ghost Tour! Our grandson is downloading a "Ghost Detector" app for his Ipod to use tonight. lol

August 9, 2012 Update - All items are now listed on the site from our recent buying trip.

We sure had a great time on our recent buying trip.. It was a long haul but worth it! Our goal was to go out to Western Pennsylvania.. and we looped up toward Rochester NY and stayed with family one night.. and headed back to the Catskills..

BUT I always wanted to go to this cool Toy Store..I had seen it on the web for years.. they started back in the mid 90s like we did here at Timewarp.. They have a website as well as a PHYSICAL store! yahoo - they are "WHERE THE TOYS ARE".. if you love vintage toys.. (and you must if you are reading this!), and you are ever ANYWHERE Near Canonsburg Pennsylvania.. YOU MUST STOP BY! I love this place. I actually bought a few things there for the site.. and have purchased from them before.

Phil McEntee is the owner - I called a few days ahead.. and he graciously met us early..so we could keep on schedule.. We were greeted by a wonderful, friendly person who loves toys as much as we do.. Also his Border Collie, Lily was there to show us around. What a sweetheart she was.. anyway, THE TOYS! WOW>> what a great shop.. AMAZING Inventory! So clean organized & well lit.. Such care has gone into this place!.. I recognized just about everything.. I LOVED it there! My favorite finds this trip? I would say the top eye catchers for me.. was the H2O Missile Mint in Box, The Land Of The Giants Model, the Tin Tea Set.. and the cool 1970s 8 Track Player Lot!

The Odd Ogg, Zippy, Johnny Eagle Rifle, Johnny Speed Jaguar, 007 Movie Camera Gun were of course Great Finds..but I have had those before..lol.

We are back home in the Catskills, NY. We traveled over 1500 miles in 3 days! It took me about 3 hrs. to set everything up for these photos.. Checked over everything, cleaned, and tested the Batop toys (They ALL work! YEA), and arranged everything so you can get a sneak peek. Tomorrow, will start listing all on the site. What a FUN JOB!!

We are away on a toy buying trip.
Down to Western Pennsylvania up to Western NY.. we left at 5am thursday.. heading home tomorrow. Picked up some awesome items.. we went to an estate auction yesterday.. and met up with some other toy dealers along the way.. will post photos when we get home tomorrow! Great weather.. we have driven about 1100 miles and we about 350 miles from our home in the Catskill Mtns. NY. We are staying with family tonight.. so it really is a treat to see them and relax until we head out to do more shopping on the way home!

Took the grandkids to the little theatre in town tonight. The local Shandaken Theatrical Society shows classic movies monthly. Tonight, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON - 1954 - In 3D!! Cardboard glasses & all. We all love the Classic Monsters and this was one of the best! We had a great time!

We have a beautiful set of Early Version Jarts - Lawn Darts that just came in today! Listed on Games page in Jarts section.

This just in! 1960 Space Patrol X-16 Saucer Battery Operated Tin Litho Toy. by Amico - Japan. Beautiful Tin Litho.. with great color & graphics. Measures 8" diameter, 5" tall. 100% Working Condition! Moves around, has the little styrofoam balls..that the air inside moves them above the saucer like satellites! Has 'Non Fall' mechanism - which keeps it from falling off the table. One of the hardest Space Patrol Saucers to find. All Excellent box, with no tears, all inserts too. Awesome! PHOTOS from last weeks "Grandmothers Weekend".. Took the kids and 3 grandkids.. up to Lake George NY area. Fort Ticonderoga & Great Lodge & Indoor Water Park!

Just returned from our yearly "Grandmothers Vacation".. We take the kids and grandkids away for a few days.. (My daughter in laws mom & I). Hubby stays home to take care of the dogs.. This yr. we went up to Lake George NY region. Spent a few days at the Great Lodge & Indoor Water Park. Nice hotel with an attached indoor water park, and lots of other great things to do.. It was a good choice..since the weather was rainy! Didn't have to travel far and spent more time at one place..saved alot of driving, etc. Kids had fun - we had fun - but tired! Have to rest up now from our vacation.

Not much going on lately with Auctions or Estate sales.. hope to have something coming up this weekend.. I did recently add to the site the cool Tip N Rok chair from the 60s. It is listed on the Toys1 pg. Also, still have Clackers in stock.. grab them before they are all gone.. Limited Quantity!

Just added a neat bath toy: Scrubby Puppy by Kenner 1977. Got a few of these in, they are MINT Unused, Old Store Stock! Pristine condition. It's a 5" puppy with sponge rollers underneath, you insert a bar of soap, wet it and scrub! Very neat. I have had many requests for this over the yrs.. first ones I have had! They are on the Toys1 pg. 1970s section.

Neat little item I just listed on the MISC. page: 1950s, early 1960s Vintage Childs School or Book Bag.

Measures 13" x 9" x 1.5". Nice Canvas material with leather handle & buckles. All intact. Actually, a Net Book would fit in it!

Sorry about the site being down.. As I mentioned last week my server company upgraded a bunch of sites (ours included) to a new server with 4 times the power, etc. But the other day we had to change the DNS (Domain Name Server). So, it has to Propagate around the globe..some customer servers save info for a day or two to help speed up browsing, so it may take a day or two for your computer to find my new settings.. hence the "Cannot Connect" It should be up all around the internet, soon! When this happens - sometimes if you clear your browser history & Internet Temporary Files - it will get it quicker.. but should be ok soon!

Still added items on the site. I have about 1/2 on there..from the estate purchase and hope to have it all on by end of weekend. The Skill Drive, Penny Poodle & Johnny Astro Lot already sold.. (some people got on the site)

Just returned from Brimfield Antique Flea Market in Massachusetts! Largest Flea Mkt in the Northeast! They only have 3 shows a year.. and we try to go whenever we can..since we always find neat toys there. Picked up some cool ones. Yesterday, we took our grand daughters grocery shopping with us.. on the way I told them that we were going to the big antique store nearby.. The littlest (3.5 yrs.), said "Why Grandma?" I said "To look for old toys to Buy and then Sell." She said "AGAIN?!?".. lol. well we found this and some other neat items! 1961 Tony The Pony ride on by Marx. Works too!

Just got in TWO pairs of 1965 Sea & Ski "Boy Watcher Sunglasses!" Both are Mint & Unused, one is in the original box! I have never had the box! wowee. Don't find these very often..and they are so cool.. PS>> "Great for Girl Watching Too". VERY hard to find.. last photo is my son modeling the last pair I sold. We made it back safe & sound from Virginia! Picked up a fantastic selection of Toys & Games. We drove about 7.5 hrs. down, stayed over & got back today around noon. Not too bad for 2 grand parents. haha. Everything is clean and - everything looks excellent or MINT. Mechanical toys all work, etc. I am starting to post now.. late afternoon. . will get all on asap..but will take a few days, (at least!).

?? Does Anyone Know What This Toy is Called?? Had a site visitor send me this photo.. circa 1964-65. It is a hoop toy with elastic bands attached to that piece in the middle. Anyone know what it is..name? maker?

Hope you are all enjoying this long weekend! Bitterly cold here in Upstate NY! Feel like hibernating! No auctions or estate sales lately.. it's pretty slow in January. We are gearing up to go down south at the end of the month (just for 2 days). A man contacted us that has a bunch of vintage toys to sell! So we are looking forward to that! Plus, we will be going to a flea market next weekend..
