After a week of snow and ice & freezing roads to contend with, it was nice to have almost 50 degree temps today! Should be a little warmer tomorrow too... so, we are heading out to go toy buying! We received about 12" of snow here in the Catskills, NY over the weekend! Very pretty out, Cold, and alot of digging out! Glad it was on the weekend.. the skiers must be very happy. We still made it to the post office on Saturday to ship - before the roads got too bad. We have a carload to go to post office today, we ship as soon as possible! It's our busiest time of the year!

YES< A Mint Operation X-500 Rocket Launcher & Defense Base Playset by Deluxe Reading. Beautiful! And yes, you do see a 1965 Aston Martin James Bond 007 Car, U-Drive-It, some cool games, Batop (Battery Operated) Space Capsule w/floating Astronaut, Crusader 101 Car, Yogi Bear Camera .. and some other cool things. One of my favorite memories as a kid: Going to the Candy Store on the corner..(one of the first places that had air-conditioning!), to buy candy, ice cream sodas at the soda fountain, listen to the beatles on the juke box, and peruse the huge array of comics to buy for 10 cents each..

Around the corner though was the five and dime store or 10cent store.. also known as a variety store..here, your Mom could buy most household goods.. I guess there was kitchen items, linens, material, clothes and such.. I am not sure..since I headed right for the TOY area.. Here you were easily mesmerized by the variety of small toys that were cheap and Mom might buy you IF you were good.. Skill Toys, Tricks, Novelty Toys, Key chain puzzles! Paddle & Ball Sets, Slide Puzzles, Whistle Rings, Tire Compasses, and just cool gadget toys that would keep you entertained and out of Moms hair for just awhile.

I picked up some cool Novelty Toy items recently.. they are listed on the Toys1 pg, 1960s section. Mostly made in Hong Kong or Japan, Never Opened. Awesome stuff!

Drove about 2.5 hrs to this great Vintage TOY auction.. I love when we don't have to sit through household items, glassware & jewelry, etc! ALL TOYS. Got mostly all I bid on. Check out photos below. Some rare items. Alot of MINT UNUSED Cap Guns, 2 MOLOTOV COCKTAIL Cap Bombs from 1964, Hubley, Kilgore, guns. BB Guns too. (those will be listed on site after our Grandson tests them next weekend).. We went to an estate auction today. Picked up some neat items. Here are 2 of the items.

My favorite finds were the Vintage Girl Scout items, the Emenee Guitar, & the "Anti Pollution" & "Anti Alcohol Abuse" Paperweights from 1970. Created by "An Angry Young Doctor - WR Spence, M.D." they are pretty cool. I found them in a store and the tag said "Hippie Paperweights" haha. We never know what we will find - very exciting.

The toys we found today are pictured below.. my favorite finds: 1927 Moon Mullins Board Game & the 1950s Miniature Cars by Cragston in Display Box!

First time ever find: Marx Zoom Mobile - Mint in Box! A very cool 1960s Hanna Barbera Cartoon Character TV Tray & another one of my all time favorites TIME BOMB!

1950s Child's Steering Wheel Car Set. Like the one I had as a kid! Measures 18" x 16" x 15". Metal & Vinyl. You would hang this over the car seat & child could sit in it and "drive" just like Mom or Dad! No longer to be used of course. But great display item for vintage car shows! Vinyl is original to the piece - with the original colorful 1950s starburst design. Small tearing on seam in front (mostly missing thread) - but the rest is all intact. Still solid. Has steering wheel and stick shift on the wheel. Horn goes in and out - but no sound. Folds flat for storage. *Free Shipping in USA PHOTO4 ~ PHOTO5

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's & Grand Mom's out there! Hope you have a relaxing day! We have a busy week ahead of us. Hopefully, a estate auction with lots of toys, some toys coming in that we purchased from people through the mail, and our "grand daughter" weekend coming up.

Every year we take each grand child on an over night trip to someplace special. The older grandson we have taken to Gettysburg PA each yr. The oldest grand daughter, Sturbridge Village, Vermont (Teddy Bear Factory & Ben and Jerry's Factory), Concord Mass., and this year over to Corning NY to the glass factory. Well, we just discovered Western NY has quite a few flea markets by Corning! Our grand kids love to look for toys too! (Imagine that). So we hope to find some nice treasures. Hope you all have a great week!

Went to an auction today - picked up a few neat items: Giant Tinkertoy set, 2 sets of Slider Jarts & A rare collection of 1950s Duncan Yo-Yo Championship Patches & pins. All from the same estate! Awesome. Items will be on the Toys1, Misc. & Games pages.

We are gearing up for our annual big buying trip down south, next weekend! We always do well there & hope to come back again with great treasures from the 50s, 60s & 70s!

Well, we finally got out of the mountains to do some toy shopping! In between snow storms and 12 hrs. later, here is what we brought home: Click photo to enlarge,

Hi Everyone! Just added a few items on the site. Purchased an Excellent set of Slider Jarts, they are listed on the Games pg. & also bought from the original owner - The Thumbelina Doll & Tiny Thumbelina Doll by Ideal. Both work great. Haven't had either of these in quite awhile! They are listed on the Toys2 pg.

Tiny Thumbelina Doll by Ideal. OTT-14 on neck. She is 14" long. All Excellent+ Condition with all her fingers & toes, beautiful face paint. Her plastic knob wind up mechanism works. perfectly. When you wind her, her head rotates like a real baby. She comes with her original pink carrying case. All intact with strap to hold her in place, the two drawers, carrying handle & 2 pcs. of clothing.

Thumbelina Doll by Ideal. OTT-19 on neck. She is 19" long. All Excellent+ Condition with all her fingers & toes, beautiful face paint. Her wood knob wind up mechanism works perfectly. When you wind her, her head rotates like a real baby.
