Friday, December 29th 2017 - Like most of the US, we are in a deep freeze here in the Catskill Mountains, NY. Temps are around zero or below each morning. .. and it zooms up to about 10 degrees during the day. No snow.. but I think it is too cold to snow.  

We are looking forward to going to an INDOOR estate auction on Saturday and hope to bring home treasures for the website.  Meanwhile, I have been lowering some prices and moving the items up to the top of their categories >>ALSO our annual HOLIDAY 20% OFF SALE is going on until January 2nd. Sunday November 12, 2017 - I am busy today going through our purchases from yesterday's onsite estate auction. It was 3 hrs away in western NY. The auction was outside in an UN HEATED tent.. and the temp was 18 degrees. Yikes! Luckily, we were done within 2 hrs and were home by 3pm.  Today I am sorting, cleaning, testing the batop toys. One, I had to open and move the gear by hand.. now it runs like new! I love that.  When items sit for over 40-50 yrs.. all it takes, is a little warmth and a nudge to get going. *Check back Thursday night for sneak peak photos - items will be on the site Friday night 7pm Eastern Standard Time. - have a great week.  -Joyce

Meanwhile, I asked our computer guru..to help improve the way photos are displayed on my website inventory pages..When you go on the site now, you click a photo - go back and click the next..etc VERY TEDIOUS! So, Eric at www.bluescreenpcrepair.com is writing the code to allow a slideshow to pop up for each item listed on my sales pages! I am thrilled and can't wait to launch it. It will be much more user friendly! There will be no downtime to the site and will be added soon.

Sunday October 22, 2016 - Weather has been perfect this weekend, here in the Catkill Mtns. NY. We still have great foliage! Rain next week.. so we are enjoying it while it lasts! This weekend - we visited 2 different people who had toys to sell to us.. locally! So we didn't have to travel far. Picked up some unique items! Tomorrow, we are leaving early to look at toys from an attic down in Pennsylvania! Since we will be gone early and back late.. 1. Tuesday - October 3, 2017 - Busy here sorting, photographing and doing toy descriptions to list. Will be posting FRIDAY MORNING this week, due to holiday weekend. 

2. So here are 4 amazing items from the estate auction: 1950s Kellogg's Cereal Premium Toys.  Two I found online, I have had a few of the subs, but have never had the other 3. Evidently rare. Especially the Exploding Tank & Skin Diver.

3. 1- 1950's  Kellogg's US Navy Atomic Submarine Nautilus Cereal Premium with the original instructions and the original box  This small toy is 4.5" long. It is made of gray color plastic and is in excellent plus condition showing no broken or damaged parts and almost no play use or wear at all. Also included is the 2" version. You fill these with the baking soda and the toy would bob up and down in the water propelled by the baking soda. All Mint with paperwork. Return address on label Detroit 32, MICH

4. 2-1950s Kellogg's "Western Stage Coach" Cereal Premium . This was a mail-a-way offer only, sending 35 cents along with a box top from Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, Sugar Pops, or Sugar Smacks. Measures approx. 7" long, dark brown plastic with "Western Stage" on each door; no cracks, Mint condition. Includes spring on the inside with lever on the wheel you crank and let go to create propulsion.   Return address on box Basically same return address on box as the Exploding Tank. New York 46, N.Y.

5. 3-1950s Skin Diver Cereal Premium. 9" long.  Original Mailing box. Basically same return address on box as the Exploding Tank  box. Detroit 32, MICH.  All looks complete. The red rubber ball (floating device?) has dried from age. All other parts Mint. RARE!

6. 4-1950s Exploding Tank & Bazooka. Army figure holds a spring missile launcher- bazooka, you load the missile and pull the lever, missile hits side piece of tank, and it explodes. Spring works, Pieces are all mint and complete. The rubber band has disintegrated from age and can be replaced. Tank measures approx. 5.5" long, 2.5" tall.   Comes with directions and comic about Tanks. Return address on box Basically same return address on box as the Stage Coach  box. New York 46, N.Y. RARE!

7.     I am assuming all are Kellogg's. since there seemed to be a pattern with the return address on the shipping boxes - and all are 1950s. ALL the toys in this estate were meticulously taken care of. These toys will be listed for sale on website Friday morning 10/6/17- Toys1 pg

Monday - October 2, 2017 - Hope you all had a great weekend! We were very busy. We stayed over 1 night in Pennsylvania. Went to 2 flea markets, met with picker friends, and attended an awesome onsite estate auction.  My dining room looks like a 50s-60s toy store exploded in it!  We found some great stuff! 

Just a heads up: I will be listing our weekly finds on Friday Morning. Since there is a holiday weekend coming, we will be leaving early Saturday - in search of toys.. and here in the Catskills, NY - the cell service is spotty.. so I can't use my phone to activate items or mark items sold right from my phone. Sunday August 27, 2017 - Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I am straightening out my toy storage area to make room for the next batch of toys.. plus packing to ship items tomorrow. You will get an email from my shopping cart with your tracking number. If you DON'T get an email, check your spam folder ..if it's not there - please email me.  The cart works really well, but sometimes there are glitches. 

I have to take a moment to mention my husband, Brian. Not only is he a great husband, father and grand father.. but he puts up with all my crazy ideas and is so supportive of my Toy business. We really enjoy hunting for toys and we try to go out as much as we can. For two 60+ year olds, I think we do really well!  It keeps us busy and in relatively good shape.  Here are some examples of what goes on while we are in our 'Toy Mode'

Me: And we have to leave the house at 5am

Yesterday, I was busy directing traffic at our Town Annual Celebration, Shandaken Day here in Shandaken NY. It was held up in Big Indian Park...where there is NO cell service, so I couldn't post on facebook as much as I usually do.  I am also the elected Town Clerk here in Shandaken, so sometimes my clerk duties overlap into my toy buying time. That's ok though - I love both jobs and it all works out fine.  Our town is about 2 hrs from NY City, in the heart of the Catskill Mts. and we are quite busy here during tourist seasons. It's a great place to live and I am lucky to be able to live here year round. Anyway, we are heading out to an estate auction Tuesday.. so I hope to find treasures. be sure to check back mid week for any updates on our finds! -joyce

Sunday July 30, 2017 - Nice to relax today after all the fun I had with the attic find of toys on Thursday! I have my carport back, for now anyway.  Today heard from a customer, she sent me this photo:  the Slurp I sold (on left) safely arrived at it's new home 10,000 miles away in Australia! He/She looks content and has a new friend or two!

I'm making good progress on this HUGE lot of toys.  My grand daughter helped yesterday, so it made the process a lot easier! about 1/2 the toys are photographed and descriptions written. I bundled some games together, (saves time) and will hopefully sell fast &  free up storage space sooner! 

I was thrilled to find 3 Play Sets in this batch> The Sears Farm Set, Desert Patrol WW2 Set and the 1967 Daktari Play Set. WOW. Of course, we had to set them up to photograph! Very time consuming - but way fun!  I hope to have all listed for sale on the website by Noon Today! <Stay Tuned>

Thursday, July 27, 2017 - Yesterday afternoon I got home and got the BEST phone message.  It was from a local picker friend of ours, he buys house contents, etc. And HE HAD TOYS! LOTS of toys. Straight from the attic. Purchased from the original owner! He must have been born around the same year as me, 1956 or so.. I knew all the toys. Mostly all mid 60s stuff. There were also some older WW2 era toys.. (must have been an older relative's). GREAT stuff. I was up till almost midnight arranging, checking and cleaning items. Below are the sneak peak photos. I will be photographing and doing the descriptions today and tomorrow and hopefully get all listed by later tomorrow. There's a lot here.. not sure how long it will take, but I will update here when finished.

Saturday, July 15, 2017 - We are away, up in Maine, visiting our daughter and family. We even brought our littlest grand daughter - so she could visit her cousin.  I have mentioned before about the cool software I have on my website now.. the Product Manager, which allows me to upload, edit and list so much more quickly and accurately. Well, I asked my computer guy to fine tune it. NOW, I can go into an item, edit it, discount the price and with one click, it moves it up to the top of the category! So now I can drop the price on items that have been sitting around too long and move the up so you can find them. When you see them there.. you know the price has been discounted..so items will move!  I do want to sell, so if you see an item sitting around = make me an offer! Have a good week! -joyce

Update- Saturday 5/20/17 Back from our excursion  around central New York today. On route 20 just west of Cherry Valley we passed an Amish gent with his horse and buggy. Route 20 in my opinion is just about the most scenic drive in the state.  We stopped in Cooperstown, not to see the Hall of Fame (done that, many times), but to visit a new Vintage Toys Store: TOYS OF FAME on Pioneer Street. They had a really nice selection and we picked up some cool item there..Drove back towards home here in Catskills.. met up with some pickers.. here is what we found.. Monday - May 15, 2017>> 9:30 pm. We are home in the Catskills NY. We left our daughters, in Maine at 7am.. we normally would have been home at about 2:00.. but we got home at about 6:30 pm. The reason being.. we couldn't be like normal people - come straight home, relax, do laundry, get ready for the work week.. OH NO.. not us. We decided to take a side trip through New Hampshire on the way home! Which added about 4 hrs to our trip. lol. We went to some shops and flea markets, connected with some dealers who gave us some leads on toys.. and voila, here is what we found. see below.

Not sure when I will get the items on the site. (Tomorrow sometime). Since we got home, I have been packing the items that sold over the weekend so I can ship right out tomorrow. Sunday, April 23, 2017 - Up early and on the road by 7am. We were home by 8pm.  We went to two flea markets out in Massachusetts.. nothing at one, a few items at the second.  But I did get a lead on some dealer shops that had vintage toys.. made a few stops, got some more leads.. and below is our finds for the day. I felt like Columbo or some other detective.. getting leads on toys, though. lol.  

I was very happy to find another 1965 James Bond 007 Attache Case. I have sold quite a few over our 21yrs selling online and I am always just as excited.  I had one when I was 9 yrs. old.. And I LOVED IT! Yes, a girl had a cool "boys" toy. haha. This one will be complete. I found someone that had the replacement bullets and dagger.. so it will be all complete. Some really nice other finds too.. I love finding Beatle items! AND a MINT, Unused Pristine set of the 1960s - first version of Missile Jarts - Lawn Darts. Update 11:55 am 3/26/17 - With the help of our grand daughter Faith, we were able to get all the item descriptions done and photos taken in only 3 hrs.... All is pre-wrapped too - for faster shipping. Whew. Hope to have all on site by late afternoon.  OH>> and guess what? I found ANOTHER Marvin Glass toy - I knew nothing about.. It was not in my book on his toys. I have had the toy - many years ago.. But I found one MINT in Box and there on the back of the box is the famous Marvin Glass logo! WOWEE. so exciting! So this will also be in my 2nd edition of "AMAZING TOYS OF MARVIN GLASS" >> 1972 Fury Wheel by Marx.

March 18, 2017 - Sold my Rumbler Chopper Bike today. Lucky thing, someone who lives about 1/2 an hour away saw it on my site, called me and we met 1/2 way - over by Woodstock. YEA! I love when I don't have to ship LARGE items. It has gotten so expensive! SO, I do buy large cool items.. and offer local pickup. Works well.. and will ship, but may charge a fee depending where it is going. Got some more snow here today.. (enough already-lol). 

Tomorrow, we are going about 1.5 hr away to meet someone that has toys to sell.. they emailed me and will see what he has, hopefully will get a few neat things for the site. Fingers crossed! 

March 15, 2017 - Well, we survived Winter Storm Stella! we got 22" up here in Catskills NY. Looks beautiful and our long driveway just got plowed.. so heading to post office. (they were closed yesterday, not that I was going anywhere). 25% Off March Madness Sale is still going strong.. discount will show in Shopping Cart. Stay Warm!

Feb. 26, 2017 Sunday 9:15 pm. We are back from the auction. A lot of cool items! I will only be able to get one item on the site tonight - the coolest of the lot - 1959 Count Down Missile Control Set by Ideal.  This is the first one I have had. MINT Condition. I could not get it to work.. although it looks brand new. Usually with the older electronics I apply direct current to the motor to get it going (sitting for over 50 yrs. you know), but to do that I have to unscrew the piece around the motor area.. and I really don't want to break anything. Selling as is, if you are handy - you can get it going. I will have that on the site in a few minutes. Here is a sneak peak of our goodies! Will get more on tomorrow.

I am working on an updated 2nd edition to my Marvin Glass book.. Came across this patent for a battery operated Frying Pan - Skillet. Someone commented that her mom had one.. but that is all the info I have. I need to know what toy company sold it and a Photo of one would be fantastic. If you have an info please email me -joyce

Sunday - January 15, 2017 - Left the house at 6am. Home at 3:30 this afternoon! JUST finished downloading photos, now I have to list items. I will update here when all is on the site -hopefully by 10pm.

Saturday, January 14, 2017. - Busy packing and shipping to get to post office before they close at noon. Any orders after 11am will go out Tuesday due to holiday on Monday.  

We are leaving at 6am tomorrow to go down to Pennsylvania, to a huge flea market and meet up with some pickers we know down there. We never know what we will find - and it always is a fun day hunting for toys! 

I just listed the very rare and cool "Fly It Yourself Helicopter" on sale from $185 to $150. for the weekend only. Thought I would try something new. This, as you may know was the FIRST Vertibird (made by Mattel in the early 70s). Well, this was designed by Marvin Glass.. and never made it in my book on his toys, since I had never seen one - and all my research never revealed it! SO, I was thrilled to find this at an auction last week.  So, I really would like to approach the Rochester, NY  HOUSE OF PLAY MUSEUM, and see if they will make a display honoring Marvin Glass and his contribution to the toy industry.. And I was thinking of donating the helicopter to get them started.. so last chance.. If anyone wants this .. here it is. Listed on Toys1 pg.

PS>>I love the idea that a complete painting can be done in 30 seconds or less.. that is why I always loved the Morris Katz paintings. Morris Katz holds the Guinness book or records title as the "Worlds Fastest Artist". I picked up these two oil paintings at yesterday's estate auction. Both framed & Signed. They are listed on the Miscellaneous page!

Saturday January 7, 2017. We left at 5am this morning from the Catskills, NY - to go to an estate auction 3.5 hours away down in Pennsylvania. They had some nice items. I got a great selection. The best thing, I bought the "You Fly It Helicopter" by Knickerbocker - this is an early version Vertibird! I thought it was very cool and had never seen one. SO, I put it on the chair next to me and glanced over, saw the logo &  it was designed by MARVIN GLASS.. !! You should have seen my face. All my research, this never popped up. So this will be in my 2nd edition, updated  book AMAZING TOYS OF MARVIN GLASS! Here is a sneak preview, I should have all on website for sale by Noon tomorrow! Enjoy
